Christian van Warmerdam

Christian 'Chris' J. van Warmerdam, 84, died peacefully at his home on Oct. 31.

Born May 5, 1928 in Haarlem, the Netherlands, Warmerdam immigrated to the U.S. in 1954 with his new bride. He spent much of his career in the dairy business, a family tradition. He had also been employed as a commercial pilot for a Dutch airline and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Chris loved to spend time with his family and also enjoyed flying his airplane.

Warmerdam is survived by his wife of 58 years, Josina 'Joyce' van Warmerdam; his four children: Les C. van Warmerdam (Tammy), Charlotte M. van Warmerdam Perrotta (Charles), Christian J. van Warmerdam Jr. (Kathleen), Scott D. van Warmerdam (Tiffany); and four grandchildren: Tyler, Cassidy, Cory and Nicholas. He is also survived by his brother, Cornelius 'Case' (Elisabet 'Bep'); his sister, Johanna 'Jos'; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 11600 Atwood Road, Auburn, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or the charity of your choice .
