Charles M. Paukert

Charles M. Paukert, a Lab retiree, died April 6. He was 88.

Born Oct. 28, 1922, he served in World War II in the Army 75th Infantry Division in Europe. In 1946, he moved from Minnesota to California with his wife Glennice, and settled in the Bay Area.

He retired in 1986 from the Laboratory after 28 years of service in the Plant Engineering Department.

Paukert enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. He was a good friend to many and touched many lives with his kindness.

He is survived by his children, Larry Paukert, Galen Paukert and Beverly Herborn; grandchildren Jessica, Nicole, Erin and Leah Paukert and Lauren and Madeline Herborn; four great grandchildren; sister, Donna Mae Aarnes and brother-in-law Vernon Aarnes of Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.

Paukert was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Glennice.

Services were held April 13 in Hayward, Calif.
