Bonnie Joyce Hughes (Welch)

Bonnie Joyce Hughes (Welch) died Feb. 22. She was 83.

Hughes was born on Dec. 6, 1940, in Stockton, California. She started her career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 1959, where she worked for more than 30 years.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Don Hughes, her son Matt Hughes (Cindy), her daughter Hillary Hull, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren (soon to be 5). She is also survived by John and Marilyn Hughes, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Alma Welch, her sister Lani Welch-Mandon, nephew Scottie Mandon, John and Frances Hughes, and sister-in-law Joan Madsen.
