Alfred C. Marsh

Retiree Alfred C. Marsh died at his home in San Lorenzo, Nov. 27. He was 91.

Born April 4, 1918, he was raised on a farm in Beebe, Ark. He came to the Bay Area in the early 1940s and worked in the shipyards until after the war. He became a journeyman electrician and worked at Fridens (Singer) until its closing. He later worked at and retired from LLNL.

He was active in the Masonic Lodge in Hayward and also in the Eastern Star.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Lillie Mae, who died two weeks prior.

Marsh is survived by two daughters, Betty Gladden of Alameda and Sheila Martin of Hayward; granddaughters Kelly Finn and Diana Jones; and great-grandchildren Curtis, Ryan and Rachel Finn, and Daniel and Emma Jones.

Visitation will be held today (Dec.4) at 10 a.m., with a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Holy Angels Funeral and Cremation Center, 1051 Harder Road, Hayward. Burial will follow the service at Lone Tree Cemetery, 24591 Fairview Ave., Hayward.
