Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren and students visit the Lab
The morning itinerary included a Lab overview by Deputy Director for Science and Technology Bill Goldstein, a presentation on computational modeling and simulation by Computation Associate Director Dona Crawford, and a presentation on the Cardioid Project by computational physicist Dave Richards. The group was joined at lunch by five LLNL scientists who discussed their careers and work at the Lab. They included biologist Crystal Jaing, research engineer Chris Spadaccini, Energy division group leader A.J. Simon, Computation group leader Vic Castillo and Forensic Science Director Brad Hart.
The afternoon concluded with a tour of the National Ignition Facility and a brief Fun with Science presentation at the Discovery Center.
