Media advisory: Tri-Valley 'Expanding Your Horizons' Conference at Las Positas College
WHO: More than 300 girls in grades 6-9 will gather to meet scientists and engineers and explore careers in math and science.
WHAT: The Tri-Valley Expanding Your Horizons Conference is an annual event geared to increase interest and foster awareness of careers in math and science. This year's theme is "Building a Better Future." At the conference, girls will participate in hands-on workshops, a special group activity and a career fair. The conference also provides young women opportunities to meet and interact with positive role models who are actively engaged in math and science-related careers.
WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 22, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
WHERE: Las Positas College Gymnasium, 3000 Campus Hill Drive, Livermore.

The conference is coordinated by volunteers from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories/California, Las Positas College and the Association of University Women.
