Reduce. Donate. Recycle. These activities demonstrate a commitment to sustainability that earned the Lab recent recognition.

Once again this year, the Lab has been recognized for reducing the environmental impact of electronics in the annual Federal Electronics Challenge (FEC).

LLNL has received the bronze award both times for addressing the 'end-of-life management' phase of equipment by disposing of electronic equipment in a sustainable and sound manner.

The challenge, sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Office of the Federal Environmental Executive, recognizes the achievements of organizations and individuals in electronic stewardship actions that have helped the Federal government improve its sustainable practices when purchasing, managing and disposing of their electronic assets.

Last year, LLNL received the FEC award and also two Environmental awards from DOE - this year in addition to receiving an FEC award, the Lab is expected to garner two additional environmental awards from DOE next month.
