'Work-Life' Web guide launched

How do you juggle the demands of work, family and personal needs? There are plenty of options, and now you can find them on the Lab’s new Work-Life Web Guide.

The Web page is part of an ongoing Laboratory effort to enhance and improve the quality of services to employees that address work-life concerns. This guide is intended to be a tool to help employees better understand work-life issues and provide information and options for dealing with these issues.

"Each day we face the challenge of balancing the competing demands of work, family and personal responsibilities," said Art Wong, manager of the Employment & Organizational Development Division within Human Resources, which created the Web page. "LLNL is committed to helping employees’ manage work-life balance because in doing so, this will promote an environment that will enhance both organizational and life goals.

"This investment in employees’ well-being is absolutely critical to organizational excellence and in the attraction and retention of the best available workforce," Wong added.

The Website is located at http://eodd-server.llnl.gov/work_life_guide/index.html . Once you get there, you’ll find valuable information on employee and family health issues, child care, elder care, the Employee Assistance Program, Laboratory policies and procedures, the Employee Services Association and more.
If you have any questions or comments, contact Art Wong, 2-9368.
