Tri-Valley Community Emergency Response Guide Being Mailed to Tri-Valley Residents

Residents and businesses in the Tri-Valley will begin receiving in the mail next week information on how to prepare for - and respond to - community-wide emergencies.

Sponsored by area emergency response agencies, the Tri-Valley Community Emergency Response Guide includes a brochure telling Valley citizens how they will be informed of a community-wide emergency, what to do if one occurs and where to turn for help. Residents will also receive a refrigerator magnet reinforcing the principal emergency guidelines - Shelter, Shut and Listen.

Members of the news media are invited to a presentation on the Tri-Valley Community Emergency Response Guide on Friday, September 26 at 12:30 p.m. at the Alameda County Office of Emergency Services at 4985 Broder Blvd. in Dublin. Representatives from the Alameda County Office of Emergency Services, the City of Dublin, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will be on hand. For electronic files of the guide logo, brochure and magnet, contact Scott Wilson at wilson101 [at] llnl.gov ( wilson101[at]llnl[dot]gov ) .

The guide is being made available through the combined efforts of the Alameda County Office of Emergency Services, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, the City of Dublin and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

" We hope all the people in the Tri-Valley area will read and keep handy the information contained in this practical guide," said Linda Shelton, Alameda County's Senior Emergency Services Coordinator.

" A lot of detailed emergency information is available through sources such as the Internet, but this guide is a concise, convenient resource listing the most important actions people can take to help keep themselves safe during a community-wide emergency."
