RFI released for Livermore Valley Open Campus

LIVERMORE, Calif. -- Lawrence Livermore National Security (LLNS) has released a request for information (RFI) from parties interested in potential leases at the planned Livermore Valley Open Campus (LVOC).

LLNS will utilize this Federal Business Opportunites RFI to analyze the LVOC leasing and design-build opportunity and to better understand questions and concerns of potential participants. LLNS will analyze the information received to either amend the RFI or develop a subsequent RFI that contains specific projects of interest.

As currently envisioned, the LVOC will consist of an approximately 110-acre parcel along the eastern edge of the Livermore Laboratory and Sandia Laboratories/California sites bordering Greenville Road in Livermore. It is modeled after research and development campuses found at major industrial research parks and other U.S. Department of Energy laboratories.

The LVOC is designed to enhance and accelerate international scientific collaboration and partnerships with U.S. government agencies, industry and academia in the areas of energy and environmental security, biosecurity and medical devices, economic security, cyber security, high performance computing and non-proliferation.

These activities will be supported by core institutional competencies, well-established expertise, and world-class facilities such as the Combustion Research Facility, Terascale Simulation Facility and the National Ignition Facility. Targeted academic alliances and industrial partnerships also are envisioned to help foster research collaborations and domestic and international educational opportunities.
