Statement by Michael Anastasio on DOE announcement

Today's decision on the LANL contract is a testament to the hard work of Los Alamos, the University of California and Livermore over the past few months. We are pleased that DOE chose to keep UC as the manager of LANL through the remainder of the existing contract.

While today's decision did not affect Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory directly, we will continue to work diligently in achieving simultaneous excellence in science and technology, operations and business practices.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank all Livermore employees, as they are the reason we are a successful laboratory. And I want to especially thank them for their extra efforts over the last few months.
We value the important and long standing association with the University of California and our sister laboratory, Los Alamos. And over the next few years, we will work closely with both the University and Los Alamos to extend into the future, the past successes of the last 60 years.

Michael Anastasio
Director
