Distinguished Panel of Women to Discuss the Future of Science and Technology

What: "LLNL 2020: Women Forging the Future of Science and Technology" is a two-day training conference showcasing contributions and research made by women, who work in science and technology and supporting roles. Attendees will have the opportunity to establish and strengthen professional alliances with management and peers.

Who: Women making a difference in science, technology, diversity and education from Lawrence Livermore, Lawrence Berkeley and Sandia labs, Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, NASA Ames, the University of California Office of the President and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Featured speakers include:
• Dr. Shirley Nash Weber, Vice Chair of the National Alliance for Restructuring Education and Professor of Africana Studies at San Diego State University,
"Women Making a Difference in Science and Technology" at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26
• Dr. Kim Mulvihill, KRON-TV Healthbeat Team Doctor and Medical Reporter,"Medicine and the Media" at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26
• Darleane Hoffman, Professor of the Graduate School in Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, faculty senior scientist and co-leader of the Heavy Element Nuclear & Radiochemistry Group at the Berkeley Lab and Charter Director and Senior Adviser of the Glenn T. Seaborg Institute for Transactinium Science at the Livermore Lab,"The New Millennium" at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26.
• Lois Schiffer, Assistant Attorney General in the Environment and Natural Resources Division at the U.S. Department of Justice, "Science and the Law" at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27
