TAYLOR NAMED LLNL SENIOR PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER
LIVERMORE, Calif. The Department of Energy's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has appointed Lori A. Taylor as Senior Public Information Officer for Community Affairs.
Taylor will be serving as a liaison to local community groups and organizations and will be responsible for designing and implementing community outreach programs, including the development of a new e-mail newsletter, in addition to assisting with special Lab programs. Her goals include increasing the role of the Lab in local communities, and expanding outreach programs.
Before joining the laboratory, Taylor served as a Redevelopment Assistant for the City of San Leandro. She managed several projects for the City of San Leandro, including the "Oakland/San Leandro Joint Revitalization Project," an award-winning program developed between the two cities in effort to strengthen community cooperation.
Taylor also has experience in developing local community outreach programs in the East Bay and Tri Valley areas. She served as District Representative for former State Senator Bill Lockyer in Hayward, California. She acted as spokesperson for Senator Lockyer to business, civic, and political organizations, working closely with local, state and federal offices to resolve local issues.
Taylor has also served as a Legislative Assistant for Assemblyman Johan Klehs, where she planned and implemented community outreach and educational programs, including a variety of public forums and events.
Prior to that, Taylor worked as a Public Relations consultant for the Golden Gate Disposal Company in San Francisco, California.
Taylor received her bachelor's degree from Mills College in 1989, and is in the process of obtaining her master's degree in Public Administration from California State University Hayward.
