Nadine Horner to Join Lab as External Relations Officer

LIVERMORE, Calif. – Nadine Horner, president and CEO of the Livermore Chamber of Commerce, has been selected as the External Relations Officer for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As part of the Lab's Public Affairs Office, she will assist the Laboratory's community relations efforts with key local and regional organizations in the broad areas of business, civic and educational outreach.

Horner will join the Laboratory staff in early 2004.

" Nadine's management experience with the Chamber and her knowledge of the community will be a great asset to the Laboratory," said Susan Houghton, Laboratory Director of Communications and Public Affairs.

Horner will take the lead and be responsible for developing, implementing and managing Laboratory-community programs and partnerships.

" I feel honored to have been chosen for this position," said Horner. "The Lab and its Public Affairs Office have a phenomenal reputation and I'm extremely excited to be joining their team. I've had the privilege of meeting many people who live and work in and around Livermore in my role at the Chamber. I'm looking forward to enhancing those relationships as a representative of the Lab in our community."

Horner has been president of the chamber for two years. Prior to that she worked in Washington, DC with the American Society of Association Executives.
