WHAT: The popular daylong conference introduces girls in grades 6-12 to a variety of challenging careers and will encourage their interest in mathematics and science.
This year, more than 500 participants will attend three hands-on workshops and interact with scientists and engineers who often have an impact on the choices these students make about their future.
Keynote speaker, Elizabeth Ponder, a scientist and global health professional, will discuss her work with BIO Ventures for Global Health, a non-profit organization whose mission is to accelerate the development of novel biotechnology-based drugs, vaccines and diagnostics to address the unmet medical needs of the developing world.
