BACKGROUND: The High Performance Computing Innovation Center (HPCIC) is a public/private collaboration facility that will make LLNL's unique supercomputing expertise available to industry in order to boost the nation's economic competitiveness in the global marketplace.

The recently completed modular building is LLNL's first in the open campus collaboration zone, a joint project with Sandia National Laboratory, California. The open campus is an area on the east side of the laboratories off of Greenville Road established to facilitate broad collaboration with industry, academia and other national labs.
