Huban Gowadia, principal associate director of Global Security, and other LLNL employees share in a video why they give through the Lab's Helping Others More Effectively (HOME) Campaign and what organizations they choose to give to.

Since 1974, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Helping Others More Effectively (HOME) Campaign has provided employees with the opportunity to donate to their favorite nonprofits. Lawrence Livermore National Security (LLNS), which manages the Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration, adds up to $1 million, amplifying the impact that employee donations have on the selected nonprofit.

Laboratory employees have donated tens of millions of dollars to thousands of organizations through HOME over the years. The 2022 HOME Campaign runs from Oct. 27 through Dec. 2 and serves as an important way for the Lab to give back to the community. During this time frame, employees may elect to donate to their favorite nonprofits through payroll deduction.

The HOME Campaign raises approximately $4 million each year with employee donations and including the $1 million added from LLNS. The goal of the campaign this year is to exceed $4 million in total donations and increase Lab-wide participation.

In this video, employees share the personal impact of their favorite charities and why they choose to contribute.
