Admiral Cecil D. Haney, commander, United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM ), visited the Laboratory last week. Haney is responsible for the global command and control of U.S. strategic forces to meet decisive national security objectives. During his visit, Haney received briefings on the Weapons and Complex Integration, National Ignition Facility (NIF), Global Security and Science and Technology areas of the Lab, and also toured NIF and additive manufacturing.

"I've been happy to hear more about the connective tissue between LLNL and USSTRATCOM," Haney said. "There is a lot of congruency."

During his visit, Haney stressed the importance of the work being done at the Lab as well as how that contributes to the overall USSTRATCOM mission. In an afternoon presentation to employees, Haney thanked lab employees for their contributions to USSTRATCOM's critical mission.

"The business that you do is very important," he said. "I can't thank you enough for your dedication and efforts day in and day out."
