Pay Range

$87,450 - $108,564 Annually for A07.2
$104,910- $130,236 Annually for A07.3

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting; pay will not be below any applicable local minimum wage.  An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Job Description

We have an opening for a Service Operations Specialist to independently and collaboratively perform a wide range of activities associated with cyber security daily operations. The position is within the Information Technology Solutions Division (ITSD) of the Computing Directorate matrixed to the Cyber Security Program (CSP) in support the LivIT Program.

This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week.

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will

  • Work closely with the Operations Associate Program Leader and represent the Operations team on CSP initiatives.
  • Serve as a working supervisor and provide direction/guidance to office staff members in support of program-specific missions.
  • Manage CSP document process from beginning to end in support of Department of Energy (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Livermore Field Office (LFO) requirements.
  • Represent the Operations team and program area in management and project meetings.
  • Interact with CSP colleagues, supervisors/leads and customers on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines to complete objectives.
  • Exercise independent discretion and judgment to define and develop the approach to team interactions to achieve the goals of the program.
  • Promote and support plans to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the A07.3 level 

  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities of customers and stakeholders, ensuring deadlines are met, while leveraging team member skills.
  • Oversee the preparation of custom reports, analyze data and make recommendations.

Qualifications

  • This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment and communicate information, and prepare and present information.
  • Ability to interpret client/customer needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions to tasks and queries.
  • Experience maintaining service area forms, records, databases and documents.
  • Experience preparing custom/ad hoc reports and conducting in-depth analysis for management decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to research, gather and analyze information, and summarize for management review.
  • Experience training and mentoring employees with ability to monitor quality and customer service standards and provide feedback.
  • Experience coordinating multiple work activities, workflow and muti-faceted processes for service operations area.
  • Advanced use of computers and a thorough working knowledge of associated software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Confluence).

Additional qualifications at the A07.3 level 

  • Associate of Arts degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience; may have additional coursework in a related field or professional certification.
  • Experience as a working supervisor, overseeing the day-to-day operations of a work unit including determination of quality goals and service standards.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to foster positive working relationships in a collaborative environment and taking initiative to lead and develop innovative improvements to operational processes.

  • Experience working in a classified environment.
  • Knowledge of the Cyber Security Program mission.
  • Knowledge of the LLNL policies and procedures.

If you use a medical device, which pairs with a mobile device, you must still follow the rules concerning the mobile device in individual sections within Limited Areas.  Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities require separate approval. Hearing aids without wireless capabilities or wireless that has been disabled are allowed in Limited Areas, Secure Space and Transit/Buffer Space within buildings.
