Job Description
We have an opening for a part-time year-round graduate intern in the Livermore Information Technology Department. You will be given the opportunity to engage in a customer service role within our Mobility Customer Support program. The selected candidate will provide support to the Laboratory’s institutional mobility program, including assisting with device deployment, troubleshooting, support, and device retirement/management.
In this role you will
- Work alongside a technical team to set up AV equipment and support live and hybrid events.
- Work with a team to help manage technical execution of events including preparation, pre-checklist, design, layout, equipment, event execution, postproduction /follow-up.
- Work side by side with a technical team to deliver results.
- Work in various positions on the AV team as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Under limited direction and supervision will conduct research in assigned area.
- Performs technical assignments of a basic degree of complexity and provide advanced technical support to scientist in scientific research and development projects.
Qualifications
- Must be a continuing college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing a graduate degree or a recent Bachelors or Masters graduate within one year.
- Ability to work well within a team to deliver a live event production experience.
- Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas.
- Experience in video switching and audio recording.
- Demonstrated academic achievement in Technical Editing, Multimedia, Audio Engineering, Videography, or other related fields.
- Experience applying basic Technical Editing, Multimedia, Audio Engineering, Videographer principles to solve technical problems.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in video production tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects and others (or equivalent, such as Final Cut Pro).
- GPA of 3.5 or above

None required. However, this position involves U.S. Export Control; this work must be performed by a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. national, or U.S. protected individual (e.g., refugee, asylee)).

Per the Department of Energy (DOE), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory must meet certain restrictions with the use and/or possession of mobile devices in Limited Areas. Depending on your job duties, you may be required to work in a Limited Area where you are not permitted to have a personal and/or laboratory mobile device in your possession. This includes, but not limited to cell phones, tablets, fitness devices, wireless headphones, and other Bluetooth/wireless enabled devices.
If you use a medical device, which pairs with a mobile device, you must still follow the rules concerning the mobile device in individual sections within Limited Areas. Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities require separate approval. Hearing aids without wireless capabilities or wireless that has been disabled are allowed in Limited Areas, Secure Space and Transit/Buffer Space within buildings.
