William G. Jones

William Green “Wild Bill” Jones, a longtime resident of Livermore/Pleasanton, died Dec. 24, 2016 at his home in Minden, Nevada, where he decided to relocate and retire.

Jones was born in San Diego, California on Oct. 15, 1941, to Charles and Irene Jones. He was the oldest of three boys. He grew up on the beaches of Southern California, playing baseball as one of his favorite pastimes. Jones worked at the post office to pay his way through college. He attended San Diego State University, where he majored in civil/structural engineering. After college, he married his first wife, Mary. He helped raise her three children, Patti, Mike and Kathy, and they had one daughter together, Wendy.

His earliest employment with Bechtel brought them to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1970. He also worked for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and traveled to and from Area 51 (Las Vegas) in the early 1970s. In 1976, he launched his own engineering firm, Tri Valley Engineering in Livermore. He was a very well known business man there for 40 years and grew his business to have his license in 28 different states.

Jones' interests included sports, travel, music (especially playing the piano) and flying airplanes.

Jones was married a second time to his loving wife, Billie Jean, and they brought their five children together as a family. She preceded him in death in 2000. He was also preceded by his mother, father, and his brother, Charles Jones, and three step children, Patricia, Michael and Katherine Berry.

Beloved father, brother and grandfather, Jones is survived by his only biological daughter, Wendy G. Miquelon, husband (Brad) and grandson, Brandon, all of Las Vegas, Nevada. His half-brother, John Black and wife Kyle of Hayward, California, as well as four step-daughters, Robin, Wendy, Terri and Toni.

The family is proud to announce that he was accepted and will be part of the Life Science Anatomical Program for medical education and/or medical science purposes.
