William "Ed" Alston

William "Ed" Alston, a former LLNL machinist, died April 7. He was 73.

Alston was born Jan. 17, 1947 in Oakland to the late William "Bill" and Gladys Alston.  He was a machinist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 42 years.

He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Linda M. Alston (Ramos). He is survived by his siblings; Laura Justus and Steve Alston; his children, Lori Warner (Geoff) and Tracy Proietti; his 4 grandchildren, Alexis Farmer (Kevin), Shelby Eckardt, Rico and Noel Proietti; and his great grandsons, Carson and Chase Farmer.

A celebration of life will be held on July 12 at 4082 Compton Court, Livermore, outside at 1 p.m.
