Vernon D. Fisher

Vernon D. Fisher of Anderson died May 16. He was 45.

Fisher was born Aug. 25, 1970 to Kathy and Frank Fisher in Hayward. He began his 20 year career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a contractor. He worked as a Laboratory employee from May 1999 to May 2014. Throughout his career, Fisher started as a senior alarms technician and worked his way up to the alarms inspection, testing and repair manager/group leader position. He was the face of the alarms group, the “go-to” person no matter the situation.  He was the person to get the job done and he didn’t like to waste any time. He always gave praise to everyone for their hard work and made a point to stop by their desk to personally say, “Has anyone told you what a great job you’ve done today?” He was friendly, smart, hardworking, outgoing and a loyal friend that will forever be missed.

Fisher had a passion for life and his family. He was always talking about how proud he was of his kids and nephews. He took pride in being a family man and it showed.

Fisher was also a music lover and played drums in a classic rock band. The band would also play during work events and he was always practicing in the air pretending to play his drums weeks before the show. Sometimes he would even sing and his friends would tease him and say it was a good thing he had a day job.

Fisher was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and great friend to many. He lost his life suddenly and unexpectedly in a car crash alongside his mother, Kathy Fisher.

He is survived by his father Frank Fisher; wife Vicki Fisher; children Evan, Alexis and Paige, and his nephews Dawson and Isaiah.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family with funeral expenses.
