Tomas Aindrias O'Shea

Tomas Aindrias O'Shea died March 18. He was 90.

O'Shea was born on Nov. 28, 1930 in Annascaul, County Kerry, Ireland. He emigrated from Ireland to Oakland on April 1, 1955. He was drafted into the Army December 1955. He used the GI Bill to obtain bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration. He retired in October 1992 from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Prior to that he worked for Moore Business Forms.

He married Breda Brosnan on Oct. 12, 1957. They celebrated more than 63 years of marriage. They enjoyed years of square dancing in the Bay Area and Santa Rosa, long walks through Ragle Park, and hosting coffee after Mass for their friends and neighbors. He volunteered in various capacities at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, and as treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bridget (nee Kennedy) and Padraig O'Shea; siblings Sean O'Shea (Kitty), Maureen Forristal (Eamon), Martin O'Shea, and Paudie O'Shea. Tomas is survived by his wife Breda; his children, Maureen O'Shea, Michael O'Shea and Anne Levy; grandson Brendan Ballaire; grandchildren Taylor Levy, Ryan Levy; and siblings Eileen Moriarty, Brendan O'Shea and Michael O'Shea (Bernadette).
