Terry Allison

Terry G. Allison, died Saturday, Feb. 23 at home. He was 63.

Allison was born March 13, 1944, in Oakland, Calif. He started working at the Lab in 1961. He retired in 1988 as a senior computer associate in the Computation Directorate. He supported the Materials Fabrication Division. He took the specifications for parts of a device and programmed them into coded instructions in paper tape versions. The paper tapes were used in computer numerical machines such as lathes and milling machines to machine the parts.

He moved to Florida in 1997 and to Citrus County in 2000. Allison was active with the Association for the Advancement of Retired People (AARP) Tax Aide program and was the past district coordinator. He enjoyed traveling in an RV and living in the mountains of California and North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; mother Ardis Allison of Oregon; sister Wanda Allison of France; his children Elizabeth Bowen, Darin McCarty, and Kevin McCarty all of Florida, and William Ross of California.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Family and friends may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Citrus County, Fla.
