Terri Hughes

Terri Helen Hughes, a resident of Livermore, died Feb. 9 in Walnut Creek after battling colon cancer. She was 48.

Hughes was born Nov. 11, 1959, in New Brighton, Penn. She worked at the Lab as a safety engineer. She was a Certified Safety Professional, a mentor with the Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) conference and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading, hiking, camping and swimming.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Jim; their three children Nicholas, Rachel and Christopher Hughes of Livermore; her mother Paulette Wasko and step-father Rick Wasko of Pennsylvania; sisters Mickhailia Gacesa of Oregon and Jill Lykins and brother-in-law Dave Lykins; mother and father-in-law Donald and Kathy Hughes; and aunt Barbara Horter, all of Pennsylvania.

In honoring her final wishes, no services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the National Park Foundation, (202) 354-6460.
