Susan Hojnacki

Susan Hojnacki of Livermore died Oct. 14. She was 51.

Hojnacki was born on June 6, 1964 in Cheektowaga, New York, to Anthony and Rose Hojnacki. She received a Ph.D.in imaging science from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Rochester, New York. She joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in May of 2012, where she worked as a signal processing engineer in the Geospatial Image Analysis Group. 

Hojnacki was an accomplished bike rider and a member of the Valley Spokesmen Bicycle Club. She loved to travel and had visited/lived in over 34 countries. She spoke many languages, French being her favorite.

Hojnacki was the daughter of Anthony and Rose (nee Wilczak) Hojnacki; sister of Anthony (Kathryn) Hojnacki, Laura Hojnacki, Philip (Ethel) Hojnacki and Jacquelyn (Steve) Cituk; aunt of five nieces and two great-nieces.

The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday Nov. 28, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Urban-Amigone Funeral Home, 7540 Clinton St. (at Girdle Rd.), Elma, New York 14059, where a Memorial Service will follow at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society of WNY, 4043 Maple Road Suite 105, Amherst, NY 14226.
