Sharon Ann Summers

Sharon Ann Summers, resident of Livermore, died Dec. 13 at Stanford Health Care ValleyCare hospital in Pleasanton. She was 70.

Summers was born Sept. 2, 1946, in Richmond, California. She went to Richmond High School, where she met her husband Gerald. While in high school, she worked part-time, bought her first car and enjoyed playing clarinet. She graduated from high school in 1964, married Gerald in 1965 and gave birth to her first daughter Lori in 1966. After having two more daughters, she and her family moved to Livermore in 1976.

Summers stayed home to raise her children until 1984, when she started working at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. As a caterer at the Lab, she met many of her closest friends. Summers loved spending time with family and friends; close family friend Mary Sturges and best friend from high school Bunnie Smithers-Neely. She was full of life and energy. Wherever she went, she was liked by many.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald; daughter Lori, and son-in-law, Brad, daughter, Carolyn, daughter, Kathy and son-in-law Matt; grandchildren, Joe, Lacey, Renee, Michael, Brandon, Emily and Lana; great-granddaughter, Daisy May; and sister, Jane Fenton.
