Scott David Elko

Scott David Elko of Bend, Oregon died June 12 after an eight-month battle. He was 60.

Elko was born to Edward and Edna (Brouillette) Elko, on March 24, 1956, in Pasadena, California. He attended college and earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics. He started his career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a computer scientist and continued there for more 30 years.

He married Delores "Dee" Whisenhunt in Carmel, California in March 2014. They lived in Bend, Oregon for about a year and previously in the San Francisco Bay Area. Elko was an avid golfer, fisherman and wildlife photographer.

He is survived by his mother, Edna "Breezy" of Sequim, Washington; a brother Jim Elko of San Diego, California; sister, Chris Elko of Grass Valley, California, and many lifetime friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward and sister, Joan Elko.
