Robert C. "Bob" Miller


Robert Chester “Bob” Miller died Dec. 7 in Manteca. He was 67.

Miller was born on Dec. 15, 1949 in Bentonville, Arkansas and came to Stockton as a toddler. He resided in San Joaquin County his entire life. A graduate of Franklin High School, class of '68, he served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medals. His career after his military service spanned from being a Reserve Stockton PD trainee, Port of Stockton police officer, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory security officer, and finally retiring in 2015 as a customer service rep at Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, and sons, Bob and Mike (Jackie) Miller, and his grandchildren, Logan, Andrea, Tristyn, Mitch Miller and Zach Reed; his siblings, Bill (Denise) Miller, Fred (Vicky) Miller, Debbie Hepperle, Peggy (Phil) Ryan, Janice Miller, Delbert (Trudy) Miller and John (Robin) Miller, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Miller was preceded in death by his father, William C. Miller, mother, Imogene (Jean) Miller and brother, Jerry Lee Miller.

Funeral services were recently held at Cherokee Memorial "Vineyard Chapel" in Lodi, California. Contributions can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
