Robert Anderson Jr.

Robert Roland Anderson Jr. of Danville, Arkansas died Aug. 11. He was 85.

Anderson was born Dec. 29, 1929 in Hayward, California, to the late Mariquita Linda and Robert Roland Anderson Sr.

He attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. His professional careers included the U.S. Postal Service, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Hot Lab Division of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and chief buyer for the Power Systems Division of United Technologies where he worked on fuel cells for the Apollo Space Program.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Adorabelle Margaret Anderson and sons, Leo Anderson and Paul Anderson.

Anderson is survived by his sons, Robert (Rebecca) Anderson III of Russellville, Arkansas and John (Lilliana) Anderson of Tracy, California; daughter, Anita Anderson of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and brother, Gerald Anderson of Palm Springs, California.

Memorial and visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Aug. 22, at the Cornwell Funeral Home, 756 Main Street in Danville, Arkansas.
