Richard Carlos

Richard Carlos died March 25. He was 69.

Born in Stockton on May 27, 1946, Carlos lived in Tracy for 57 years before moving to Minden, Nevada in 2003 after retiring from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory after 25 years of employment.

His hobbies involved old cars; his pride was a 1963 Ford Galaxy. He was a former member of the Battle Born Early Ford V-8 Club of America in California. He loved camping with his friends and family.

Carlos is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy Smoak Carlos. They raised three wonderful children, Stephen Carlos of Minden, Nevada; Jonathon (Kelly) Carlos of Cameron Park, California; and Courtney (Perry) Perez of Gardnerville, Nevada. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; his only sister Katherine (Ernie) Bennett of Surprise, Arizona and his beloved dog, Nick.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Carlos, and his mother, Velma Jackson.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, April 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Robertson residence, 26931 S. Banta Road in Tracy.
