Peter M. Baylacq

Peter M. Baylacq, resident of Discovery Bay, died Sept. 7. He was 69.

Baylacq was born Nov. 18, 1946 in San Francisco and graduated from Washington High School. After traveling around Europe as a young man he was called to service in Vietnam where he honorably served his country. Upon his return home, he married and started a family. Baylacq returned to school and earned his degree in industrial health and safety, beginning a 30-year career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

His love, courage and strength carried him through the loss of his first wife to cancer. Once again, Baylacq followed his heart and he was reunited with and married his high school sweetheart. After retiring from the Lab, he became a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and spent his days enjoying what he loved most, his wife, his family and his love of golf.

Baylacq is survived by his loving wife Marie; children, Charlie, Christine, Colleen and James and his grandchildren, Ashton, Connor, Colleen, Jack, Collin and Finnegan. His family and friends will forever hear his gentle voice, his sense of humor and his amazing stories.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate his life at 11 a.m. on Sept. 23 at St. Anne's Church, 2800 Camino Diablo Rd. Byron, California 94514, (925) 634-6625. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Program.
