Ninon Claire Cabrales died Oct. 29. She was 81.

Cabrales born Ninon Claire Pelletier to Howard Gaspar Pelletier and Emilie Claire Vignolo on March 19, 1940, in Modesto, California. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1958. She worked at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as an administrative assistant in the public affairs office for 20 years, retiring in 1993.

She authored articles for the Tri-Valley Herald and for Lawrence Livermore Laboratory newspaper. She was a founding member of the Tri-Valley National Organization for Women, and contributed to two volumes of feminist poetry, "Women Talking, Women Listening".

Cabrales is predeceased by her sister Gwen Renee Pelletier Leaf, and her son, Matthew Pelletier Harris. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Xavier Cabrales of Santa Rosa; her sister Camille Dahlin of Riverbank; her daughter Traci Harris of Healdsburg; her son Tyler (Raina) Harris of Vass, North Carolina; as well as five grandchildren; Nicole Lewis, Blake Harris, Zakary Harris, David Harris and Avari Harris and three great grandchildren and many more relatives and friends.

A private service was held at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Kenwood, and a private interment was held in Healdsburg at Oak Mound Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Disabled Veterans of America, the American Cancer Society, or the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
