Lester S. Lane

Lester S. Lane passed away May 31.

Born to Wesley and Inez Lane in Oklahoma, he grew up in Nevada. The family moved to California in the early 1950s. Lane graduated from Livermore High School and had a 47-year career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. 

Lane was a man who loved life, his family and enjoyed the great outdoors with a special joy for the Grand Tetons.  As a young man, he raced cars and motorcycles and always had a one-liner for every situation

He is survived by his wife, Fern; son, Steven (Linda); and daughter, Laurie. He also is  survived by grandson, Austin and his mother, Melinda; his brother, Charles (Barbara); and sister, Charlotte; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., June 6. at Callaghan Mortuary, 3833 East Ave., Livermore.
