Kenneth James Jackson

Kenneth (Ken) James Jackson of Livermore died Nov. 12. He was 63.

Jackson was born Sept. 9, 1953, to James H. Jackson, Jr. and Genacile Shaha Jackson in Clayton, New Mexico. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1971 and attended undergraduate school at the University of New Mexico. Upon his graduation from there he attended the University of California at Berkley where he received his doctorate degree. He became an employee of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where he worked for more than 30 years.

Jackson touched many lives with his sincerity, love and dedication both at home and at work. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, SumYee Christine Jackson; son, James Ginn Jackson; daughter, Kathryn SumYee Jackson and sisters, Marcia (Joe) Gardner and and Cynthia (Steve) Green. He also is survived by his mother-in-law, So Chi; sister-in-law, Kit (Eric) Cho; several nieces and nephews, Kim (Daniel) Grubbs, Travis Gardner, Garrett Green, Denise Green, Alicia Cho and Clarice Cho. He also is survived by an aunt, Betty Polk, as well as many numerous cousins, close friends and colleagues.

Graveside services were recently held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Livermore.
