James F. Smith

James F. Smith died Feb. 28 surrounded by his family.

Among his many accomplishments in life Smith spent an abundance of career (from 1962 to 1987) at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

In addition to being a loving husband and father, Smith was a decorated World War II veteran and will be honored with a military honors funeral at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery. 

Smith is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, four children, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother.

On March 13 at 9:15 a.m., family and friends are invited to meet at Garre Vineyard, 7986 Tesla Road in Livermore follow in a vehicle precession to the funeral site at San Joaquin National Cemetary, 32053 McCabe Road in Santa Nella Village, where the Military Honors funeral will begin at 11 a.m.

Following the services, from 2-4 p.m., will be a memorial reception back at Garre Vineyard and Winery in the Bella Rosa Room, 7986 Tesla Road, Livermore.
