Jack Dennis Robson

Retiree Jack Dennis Robson, a resident of Livermore, died Jan. 16. He was 73.

Robson was a senior associate mechanical technician at the Lab. He retired in 2001 and often said he could never have found a better job.

Robson was born in Denver, Colorado. Jan. 16, 1942, to John and Minnie Robson. When Robson was seven, the family moved to Berkeley. He graduated from Berkeley High School in 1960 and Oakland City College with an associate's degree and aircraft mechanics license in 1963.

After working for a short time as an aircraft mechanic, he joined the U.S. Air Force as a weapons fire control technician on the F-102 from 1963 to 1967.

Robson met and married Donna Sparkman in 1970 and they had two children.

After retiring from the Laboratory, Robson volunteered his time in the Restoration Department of the Castle Air Museum for 13 years.

Robson is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Eric (and wife, Cheryl); daughter, Wendy (and husband, Matt); sister, Judy (and husband, Jim) of Ferndale, Wash.; brother, Richard of Castro Valley; and four grandchildren, Lance and Siena Robson and Mia and Silas Westcamp.
