Hasel (Jim) James Slone Jr.

Hasel (Jim) James Slone Jr. died Feb. 17, 2018. He was 81.

He attended Ohio State University, graduating with a doctorate of physics. From 1953 to 1957, he served in the Navy. He then was hired as a physicist in B Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where he remained until he retired in 1994, then continued on as a consultant for a number of years.

He loved being a Boy Scout leader, soccer coach and Little League coach, and spent much time after retirement studying genealogy. 

Slone was the loving husband of the late Charlene Bevins Slone. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Slone. He is survived by his son, Scott Slone; daughter, Gretchen Slone Dodd; grandchildren - Christopher, Jason, Michael, Amanda, Nichole, Brianna, Jared, David, and two great grandchildren, Claire and Tristan Dodd.
