Glendon L. Crossman

Glendon Lyman Crossman died Jan. 3. He was 87.

Crossman was born June 23, 1928 in Rutland, Vermont to the late Lewis and Vida Crossman. The WWII Navy veteran called Manteca home for the past few months but prior had lived in Livermore for many years, before settling in Tracy for several more years and even calling Brentwood home for a time.

Crossman worked as a chemical research technician at Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore national laboratories. He was an avid golfer and belonged to Las Positas Men’s Golf Association and served on their board. He also was a member of the Tracy Golf and Country Club, the Elks Lodge and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.  He also was an accomplished woodworker and made fine furniture for his home and for family gifts.

Crossman is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Joanne Crossman; daughters Maureen Lundbom of Livermore and Charleen Pederson of Tracy; grandchildren Patrick Lundbom of Livermore, Kristin Farlow of Mahomet, Illinois, Stephen Lundbom of Santa Barbara, Jennifer Barbour of Sparks, Nevada, Olivia Rio of Manteca and Vanessa Berkich of Stockton. He was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held Jan. 11 with burial following at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on Jan. 12. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or The Humane Society. An online guest book is available.
