Frank Beckett

Frank Beckett, of Susanville, California, died March 7. He was 66.

Beckett was born on June 24, 1949, in Grand Junction, Colorado, to Jeanne Horning Beckett and Franklin Clark Beckett. He attended Longmont High School, where he was an avid member of the music department, starring as Captain Von Trapp in his senior year musical (at which time he started dating his future bride). He graduated from Longmont High School in 1967. After working for six years at Rocky Flats and serving as a deacon and leader of the "bus ministry" at First Christian Church (now LifeBridge), he moved his young family to Livermore, California, where he worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for close to 30 years.

Beckett took his love of the mountains and fishing with him to California, retiring to Eagle Lake near Susanville. He will forever be remembered for his smile, laughter, faith, wisdom, integrity, strength, courage and love of God, family, Labradors and nature.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda; his daughter, Peggy (Jim) McGee of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and son, Matthew (Sharon) Beckett of El Dorado Hills, California. He also is  survived by grandson, Kelly; granddaughters, Lydia, Audrey and Sarah; his sister, Dianne (Rick) LaFleur of Littleton, Colorado, and loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

A memorial service is being held in Susanville, California. Family and friends are invited to remember Beckett together at Pinocchio’s, 210 Ken Pratt Blvd #210, Longmont, Colorado 80501, on Saturday, March 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at Grand View Cemetery in Fort Collins, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider continuing Beckett's legacy in support of Shepherd's Gate (Livermore, California) or Grace Life Church of Susanville.
