Francis "Frank'' Rogue

Francis “Frank” Rogue, a Lab retiree, died July 9. He was 76.

Rogue was born April 29, 1932, in Fall River, Mass. to Joseph and Rose Pabial Rogue. He moved to California in January 1950 and joined the Navy during the early days of the Korean War.

He served for four years as a machinist mate on the USS Oberon. Rogue was employed by the U.S. Navy at the Alameda Naval Air Station for four years before leaving in 1954 to join the Laboratory.

He went to school under the G.I. Bill to study electrical engineering. He worked and continued to study during the first 19 years with the Lab. He retired as a division superintendent with a career spanning 36 years.

Rogue moved to North Carolina in March 2004. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stoneville, and a member of the Rockingham County Amateur Radio Club. He is survived by his wife, Margie Heffinger Rogue; two step-daughters, Denise Hirst of Chapel Hill; and Michelle Adkins of Raleigh; two step-grandsons, Alex and Ean Hirst; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Carolyn Buskey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and Eddie Rogue; and sister, Irene Rose.
