Ernest Arthur Hodges died July 30. He was 92.

Hodges was born in Springfield, Michigan to Herbert Logan and Elsie Mae Amos Hodges. The family moved to California when he left the Army. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Richland, Washington. Hodges changed jobs and went to work for the Hanford Operations Office as a courier. He transferred to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he was employed by the US Atomic Energy Commission as a security specialist. He worked at LLNL for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Audrey; his three sons, Dale Hodges, Vincent Hodges and Jeffrey Hodges; daughter, Linda Bishop; stepson Jimmy Pierce; stepdaughters Johnna Smith and Phyllis Pierce-Adkins, 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by two stepsons, Clarence Louis and Claud Homer Pierce.

A viewing will be held at Callaghan Mortuary, 3833 East Ave. in Livermore on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at noon. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. next door at Memory Gardens 3873 East Ave. A celebration of life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1501 Hillcrest Ave. Refreshments will be served.
