Dorothy Barbara Branum

Dorothy Barbara Branum, a native of Fresno and a resident of Livermore since 1955, died April 17. She was 90.

Branum is a member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Ward #2 of Livermore.

She worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from April 1965 to February 1967 in the BioMed Division. Other jobs included working at McDonald's for three years, Livermore School District as a crossing guard and as a classroom volunteer. She had a love of crafts, especially sewing.

Branum is survived by her three children, James D. Branum and daughter-in-law Chriss of San Jose; Lynn E. Branum and daughter-in-law Denise Stempien of Livermore; and Genell M. Branum of Livermore; sister Beverly J. Eckley of Livermore; six grandchildren, Benjamin, Nickolas, Oksana, Nathan, Sergei and Chantel; and great grandson Jordan.

She was preceded in death by husband David R. Branum in 2003 and daughter Kathleen Agnew in 1992.

Services were recently held at the Chapel of Callaghan Mortuary in Livermore. Inurnment followed at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella, California.
