Donald Ritchie Lesuer

Donald Ritchie Lesuer died Oct. 8. He was 73.

Lesuer was born on April 27, 1946, to Donald and Pearle Lesuer in Waltham, Massachusetts. He was a graduate of Waltham High School, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Stevens Institute, and received his doctorate in materials engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was in the Army reserves for eight years. He pursued his scientific career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for 38 years. He was an avid biker, swimmer, runner and accomplished triathlete.

He leaves behind his wife, Suzanne Lesuer; son, David; daughter-in-law, Lara; two grandchildren, Faith and Ava; sister, Barbara Alden of Deerfield, Massachusetts; brother, Robert Lesuer and his wife, Melanie of Plymouth, Massachusetts and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be on Saturday, Nov. 23, at noon at 2927 Bresso Drive, Livermore.
