Charlotte Elise Keller

Charlotte Elisa Keller of Pleasanton died Dec. 30. She was 75.

Keller was born on May 6, 1939 in San Francisco. After the death of her parents in 1952, she and her brother Milton Kubicek moved to Pacheco to live with an aunt and uncle. She is a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School. After high school, she worked in Pittsburg and then in Martinez for Contra Costa County.

In 1959 Keller met her husband Bob and they were married on Nov. 19, 1960. After the birth of their first child, she decided to stay home to raise their four children. The family moved to Livermore in 1962 where all four children graduated from Granada High School. In 1979, she re-entered the workforce at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where she retired in 1999 as an administrative assistant in the Electronics Engineering Department. After retiring, Charlotte enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout the U.S., Western Canada and Alaska with their travel trailer and airplane.

Keller was active in the Catholic Community of Pleasanton where she was a greeter at Sunday Mass at St. Elizabeth Seton Church. She also was a member of the Vintage Hills Neighborhood Christian Community (NCC) and was instrumental with setting up her group and other NCC groups to work at Open Heart Kitchen. She also participated in going to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen with the NCC group on a regular basis.

Demonstrating her kindness and generosity to the end, Keller donated her body to Stanford Hospital for research and educational purposes.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Keller; children, Kathleen Lennon of Potomac, Maryland; Jeffrey Keller of Pleasanton; Joseph Keller of Livermore; and Angela Texeira of Pleasanton and 14 grandchildren.

A mass to celebrate Keller's life will be held on Friday, Jan. 23, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 4001 Stoneridge Dr., Pleasanton, California. A reception will follow.
