Charles Farrell

Charles Lee Farrell, a resident of Livermore and a Lab retiree, died Aug. 12. He was 80.

Born Aug. 15, 192,7 in Wewoka, Okla., Farrell was the only son of the late Flossie and James Farrell of Modesto. He moved to Oakland in 1941.

He started at the Lab as a machinist and after five years became a mechanical technician. He then worked in support of the Chemistry Department. He retired as a scientist associate in 1984 after a 28-year career.

After retirement, he moved to Mi Wuk Village, then to Sonora and then back to Livermore in 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Gerry; his son and daughter-in-law, Robbie Farrell and Cindi Farrell; granddaughter Cassandra Farrell Sulzer and Jorel Sulzer; and his dog Sammy.

Services were held in Hughson, Calif.
