Cecil Wayne Wells

Cecil Wayne Wells, a Lab retiree and resident of Livermore, died June 6. He was 71.

Wells was born March 8, 1937, in Oklahoma, the youngest of seven children.

He studied mechanical engineering at Oklahoma State University before moving west to work at LLNL, where he met and married Corrine Hurst.

He loved the outdoors and developed a passion for cars. He spent several years selling real estate. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and traveling. For decades he was the sole caretaker for his wife after her stroke.

He leaves his wife Corky of Livermore; his daughter Stephanie and her husband Paul Kenner of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial celebration is being planned for the summer (For information, go to the Cecil Wells Blog.) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice.
