Burton Ray Lindquist

Burton (Burt) Ray Lindquist of Modesto died Oct. 30. He was 71.

Lindquist was born on May 28, 1945 in Duluth, Minnesota to Roy and Olive Lindquist. He was raised in Turlock, California and attended Turlock High School (Class of 1961). He then attended Fresno State University where he earned a degree in engineering.  After college, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Lindquist retired from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 2005 where he worked as a construction estimator. In his retirement, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in school and sports activities, playing golf and volunteering at the Gallo Center in Modesto. He was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Turlock.

Lindquist was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Kathie, and his parents Roy and Olive Lindquist. He is survived by his son, Randy Lindquist of Turlock; his daughter, Lorie (Phil) Wagner of Denair; grandchildren, Taryn and Caden Lindquist, and Peter, Paul and Faith Wagner. He is also survived by his brother Ned (Jennifer) Lindquist of Elgin, Illinois.

A memorial service was recently held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Turlock, California.
