Thomas Raison

Thomas Latham Raison died Dec. 19 in Livermore. He was 86.

Raison was born in Chicago, Ill. Nov. 3, 1921. In 1942, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served 18 months in the South Pacific. Following his discharge, he worked for AT&T where he met Lorraine Coupe. After they married in 1948 in Berkeley, he went back to school and graduated from San Francisco State University.

In 1966, they moved to Livermore where he worked for the Laboratory until his retirement. The Raisons were active in many Livermore organizations including Livermore Amador Symphony Association, where Tom served on the board for 21 years and was president for two years.

He is survived by his brother Robert M. Raison and his wife of Dinuba, Calif. and nephew Charles Raison of Atlanta, Ga.; and a niece Margo Ann Raison of Bakersfield, Calif.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church at 11 a.m. , Saturday, Feb. 9. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.
